What data we collect

Enquiry and contact data — name and email address if you contact us or sign up to hear from us.
Trade enquiry data — name, email, and business details if you submit a trade or wholesale enquiry.
Order and delivery data — name, delivery address, email, and phone number when you place an order through our webshop, together with details of what you have ordered.
Age verification data — because we sell alcohol, we are required to confirm that customers are aged 18 or over. This check is carried out by our age verification provider, who check the details you provide — such as your name, address, and date of birth (and, where needed, details from an identity document) — against reference databases to confirm your identity and that you are aged 18 or over. We receive confirmation of the result.
Payment data — payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe and we do not store your full card number on our systems.
Technical data — such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically via cookies.
How we use your data
We use your data to:

Process, fulfil, and deliver your orders, and provide customer support.
Verify that you are aged 18 or over before selling you alcohol.
Send you updates about Kafana, if you have asked us to.

Marketing
If you sign up to our mailing list, we will send you news and offers about Kafana. We only do this with your consent, and you can opt out at any time — every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us at info@kafana.co.uk. Opting out of marketing will not affect any other processing we need to carry out, such as completing an order you have placed.
Children and age
We sell alcohol, so our products and website are intended only for adults aged 18 or over. We do not market to anyone under 18, and we use age verification at checkout, alongside an age-verified delivery where required, to prevent sales to under-18s. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we hold data about a person under 18, please contact us and we will delete it.
We do not knowingly collect special category data (such as data about health, race, religion, or sexual orientation) through this website.

How long we keep your data
Enquiry and contact data: up to 3 years.
Order, transaction, and tax records: up to 6 years after the end of the relevant financial year, as required by HMRC.
Age verification records: retained as needed to demonstrate that we carried out the check, up to 6 years.
Marketing data: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
We will delete your data sooner where we are able to if you ask us to.
How we keep your data secure
We use reasonable measures to protect your personal data from being lost, misused, or accessed without authorisation, and we limit access to those who need it. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
